A vet from “A Gifted Man” and “Entourage” has been taken hostage.

Rhys Coiro has signed on for Jerry Bruckheimer’s drama pilot “Hostages.”
Toni Collette and Dylan McDermott have also been cast. Tate Donovan (“Deception”) co- stars.
Ellen (played by Collette) is a Washington, D.C. surgeon thrown into political conspiracy after she is picked to do the United States President’s surgery. Ellen’s family is taken hostage, and she has to keep them alive.
Coiro will play Kramer, brother- in- law of Duncan (played by McDermott). Kramer’s loyalties will be tested by the conspiracy and make things more difficult for Duncan.
Coiro was a regular on “A Gifted Man,” a short lived medical drama that was also on CBS. He also played eccentric director Billy Walsh on HBO’s “Entourage.”
Jeffrey Nachmanoff will pen the scripts and exec produce alongside Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman, Omri Givon, Rotem Shamir and Chayim Sharir.
Coiro is represented by UTA, Untitled and attorney Dave Feldman.
No word yet if Coiro will appear in the upcoming “Entourage” movie. I for one hope so, since Billy Walsh was hilarious and a great antagonist to Eric Murphy (played by Kevin Connolly). Walsh had cleaned up his act by the end of the series, but what fun is that?
