In amid the speculation that Tulisa is to be axed from the X-Factor; Simon Cowell admitted to wanting David Bowie to bring the "cool" back after failing ratings.
In an interview with MailOnl
ine, Cowell said: "It's not secret I've asked him, and he hasn't said yes yet, but I'll keep extending the invitation. Why Bowie? He's a legend".
"He's a great songwriter, he has a massive influence on music today and he's 100 per cent credible."
It would seem that Simon's hopes of getting Bowie onto the panel could be possible. The star is reportedly not anti-X-Factor like many music legends. He did give the go-ahead for the contestants to cover the hit 'Heroes' track in 2010.
The reclusive singer is busy with the release of his new album 'The Next Day'. Bowie may have the experience and influence to be able to teach new contestants of this years X-Factor, but it does not credibly do much for him.
In the past such stars as Rita Ora, Mel B and Jon Bon Jovi have reportedly turned down the role.
It has been reported that the music mogul has already informed Tulisa that she won't be returning to the show.
