A TV journeyman will be heading to Texas, “Dallas” to be exact.
Steven Weber will recur on the TNT drama.
Larry Hagman, who portrayed J.R. Ewing in both the original version and on this one, recently passed away at the age of 81 while filming season two in the Lonestar State. Hagman is expected to only appear in the first six or so episodes this season.
The season two premiere lost almost 60 percent of viewership from season one.
Weber will appear as Governor McConaughey, an ambitious politician conspiring to take down the Ewing family down. He will be scheming with Cliff Barnes (played by Ken Kercheval) and Harris Ryland (played by Mitch Pileggi) to make that happen.
Weber’s first appearance will be in season two’s 12th episode. Season two is expected to have a 15- episode run.
Weber has appeared in “Wings,” “Brothers & Sisters” and “Studio 60.” He has also recently made appearances on “Malibu Country,” “2 Broke Girls (he plays Beth Behr’s Caroline’s father),” “Parenthood” and “Falling Skies” on TNT.
“Dallas” airs on Monday nights at 9 ET/ 8 CT on TNT. Episode six of season 2 will air this week.
