The New York Post has recently reported that The View host Joy Behar may be making the move soon to CNN. Although not yet confirmed, Behar has been seen meeting with the president of CNN, Jeff Zucker, throughout the last week. This has fueled the speculation that the two are currently working on a deal that would give Behar her own show on the network.
Behar has about 16 years of talk show and co-hosting experience, starting back in 1997 when she would fill in for Barbara Walters on days she was away on the original version of The View. Behar was a guest host on Larry King Live starting in 2007, hosted a show on CNN’s HLN for two years, and most recently works for Current TV with her show Joy Behar: Say Anything while still co-hosting on The View.
The addition of Behar to the CNN team could be the next step in Zucker’s renovation plan at the network. Zucker was announced as the new President of CNN Worldwide back in November of 2012, and since starting on the first of January he has already done numerous hiring and firings. Zucker has parted ways with political pundits James Carville, Mary Matalin and has recently hired Chris Cuomo.
