Fans of HBO's fantasy drama series Game of Thrones received a pleasant surprise when they picked up Monday's copy of the New York Times. The February 25 edition featured a rather interesting full spread advertisement for the HBO drama's third season.
As per WinterIsComing, two full pages of the Times were dedicated to Game of Thrones -- though in a uniquely striking way that also allowed for other articles to be printed on the page. The dragon shadow imagery, which has been revealed as the key art for the third season, was superimposed across the page, for a very cool effect. Check out the photo below.

Pretty cool, no? It was tough for me to be any more excited for the third season, but this spread at least made me feel more optimistic about the season 3 key art, of which I was previously fairly critical. I still hope we get another season 3 poster, but this one's starting to grow on me.
Game of Thrones will return for its third season March 31 at 9/8c on HBO. Will you be tuning in?
