The British supernatural series Being Human is coming to an end this year after five series. The series, which has followed various supernatural beings, including werewolves, vampires, and ghosts, was announced to be ending after its sixth-episode fifth series earlier this month, and now we've been given a synopsis of the final episode, courtesy of the BBC. Here it is:
"The supernatural trinity has been broken.
There is little left of Hal's humanity. Having feasted on blood and recruited an army of vampires, he's ready to return to his hedonistic and debauched days. Tom is set on revenge and has returned to his default setting – vampire killer, with one vampire in mind. Alex is trapped in a hellish prison by Captain Hatch. Unbeknownst to them all, Captain Hatch is no longer wheelchair bound and weak: he's the regained his strength and is determined to cause as much chaos, death and destruction as possible. In the thrilling series finale Hal, Tom and Alex do battle with the Devil (Phil Davis) in order to save the world, but at what price to their own humanity? Starring Damien Molony (Hal), Michael Socha (Tom), Kate Bracken (Alex), Phil Davis (Captain Hatch), Steven Robertson (Mr Rook)."
Certainly the idea of a final battle with the Devil makes for a climactic finale, though it's unsure if it will be a fitting cap to the show's legacy -- after all, things just haven't been the same since the departure of original stars Aidan Turner and Russell Tovey in the show's third and fourth series, respectively. However, Being Human appears to be making the best of what's around, and the finale should at least be an entertaining, if not satisfying, outing. And fans of the series need not worry too much for a dearth of their favorite supernaturals: the Syfy version of the series is still going strong, with another episode airing next Monday.
The UK version of the show's finale, "No Care, All Responsibility," airs March 3 on BBC Three.
