TBS has ordered 16 episodes of a new late-night comedy series that will feature comedian Pete Holmes. The series will air Monday through Thursday at the network following Conan at midnight, with a four-week run. It will include sketches, short film, field pieces, live comedy and in-studio guests and be filmed in front of a live studio audience.
The series is being developed and brought to the network by Conan O'Brien, who will executive produce the series.
“Pete Holmes is an enormously likable performer with an agile and innovative mind," said O’Brien. “I’m really looking forward to his show, and I’ve already had my son program my DVR.”
"Pete is a phenomenal talent with a truly unique point of view," said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies. "He has just the right comic sensibility and style we're looking for to follow CONAN in our late-night lineup."
Holmes is excited to be getting this opportunity.
"The first half of my meeting with Conan was spent making sure this wasn't all part of a new TBS prank show called You Got Coned! The second half was spent expressing my sincerest enthusiasm and gratitude for this incredible dream come," he said.
The project is currently untitled.
