American Horror Story was not enough for FX. The network is employing 'Sons of Anarchy' showrunner Kurt Sutter and former 'Hell on Wheels' showrunner John Shiban to create a new horror drama series. The series, titled 'Lucas Stand,' will be a "dark action/horror drama with both episodic and serialized elements," according to THR.
The plot sounds like a combination between the 2005 film Constantine and the British sci-fi series Doctor Who: the series "follows the salvation quest of a damaged former special ops soldier, who has been chosen to traverse time and place to hunt down and kill Hell's law-breaking demons."
It sounds fairly interesting, and given FX's propensity for developing highly unique, creatively-driven dramas, I'd say that this news is indeed fairly exciting.
Sutter is best known for being the showrunner of FX's most popular series, the biker drama Sons of Anarchy. He's also working on another series for FX, dark comedy Diva. Clown. Killer., starring Sons of Anarchy actress Katey Sagal.
Shiban, meanwhile, has a varied television filmography. In addition to serving as an executive producer for AMC's western series Hell on Wheels, he has worked on a wide variety of television shows, including The X-Files, Breaking Bad, Supernatural, Torchwood: Miracle Day, and The Vampire Diaries.
We'll keep you posted regarding any more Lucas Stand-related news as it comes.
Oh noes. All this copy/paste as soon as a horror show does well. Simply just hate that strategy :/
