Patrick Fugit may not be almost famous for long.

The actor will star in drama pilot “Reckless” on ABC in the starring role. He will play David Ritter, a problem solver described as good- looking, pleasant, kind and somewhat guarded. He is an engineer at a manufacturing facility for components for aircraft engines.
When Ritter’s wife Sarah Harrison (played by Eloise Mumford from “The River” and “Lone Star”) is unfairly imprisoned after an overseas political uprising, Ritter tries every available legal option first, but then he enters the high- stakes world of political intrigue.
“Reckless” is from Martin Campbell (“Green Lantern”) and ABC Studios. Campbell will also direct. Chris Black will pen the script of the pilot (which is inspired by real events) and exec produce along with Campbell and Lucienne Papon.
Other cast members include Ernie Hudson (“Ghostbusters,” “Oz”), Lou Taylor Pucci (“The Go- Getter,” “Personal Velocity: Three Portraits”) and Ashton Holmes (“A History of Violence,” “The Pacific”).
Fugit appeared in 2000’s “Almost Famous,” HBO’s “Cinema Verite,” “We Bought a Zoo,” “Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant” and “Thanks for Sharing.”
Fugit is represented by Gersh Agency and Levin/ Brown Management.
