Ron Livingston joins "Boardwalk Empire" as new regular

Boardwalk Empire has enlisted the talents of Ron Livingston for season 4 of the HBO drama, and the word is that his character will become a series regular. Livingston will be playing the character of Roy Phillips, an affluent businessman from out of town who comes to the Jersey Shore and becomes the object of brothel owner Gillian Darmody’s (played by Gretchen Mol) affection.

Season 4 of Boardwalk Empire is currently in its production stage and will hit the small screen later this year. Livingston is no stranger to the network, having previously worked with HBO on three separate occasions. Livingston co-starred as Carrie’s boyfriend Jack Berger in season 6 of Sex and the City, as Captain Lewis Nixon on the critically acclaimed mini-series Band of Brothers (alongside Donnie Wahlberg and Damian Lewis) and, most recently, as Mark Wallace in the TV movie Game Change in 2012.

Livingston is known most frequently for his role in the cult film Office Space, where he played a disgruntled and fairly depressed office employee, and he is appearing in several movies this year. Livingston will appear in the Lynn Shelton film Touchy Feely, Drinking Buddies and the New Line supernatural thriller The Conjuring.
