Embarrassingly, I watched the first few seasons of MTV's Jersey Shore with my wife, a guilty pleasure to be sure. While the cast members were not people I could identify with in any way, each of them had some aspect that made them interesting, be it good or bad. All but one, that is.
Angelina Pivarnick was annoying. Really, really annoying, to the point that I would have gladly slipped the network a few dollars if they had dropped her off in the middle of the woods somewhere, never to be seen again. But just as quickly as she appeared, she was gone, as she abandoned the house in its first season.
Until the next season, when she showed back up, to the joy on no one (watching or in the "cast"). Everyone on the show tried to give her another chance, but she ended up hated and outcast once again, and did not come back to the cast in any of the later seasons.
Now Angelina wants another crack at it, as she has started a Kickstarter campaign in an attempt to raise $8,000 to film a new reality pilot called "The Comeback."
"I want to film my own reality show and I want to show everybody who the real me is," she said in the Kickstarter video. "I need your help to put me back on TV."
The website also lists her mission statement, if you will, for why she is doing this.
"As you may have seen on MTV's The Jersey Shore, Angelina was cornered by the rest of the cast due to her larger than life and 'tell it like it is' personality, but if you were to meet her in real life you would surely get a different impression. Angelina has a fun and outgoing personality that will shine on her new series as you see her go through the trials and tribulations of trying to be the best Angelina that she can be! This is her shot at making a comeback and she wants to show you the real her!"
God forbid she gets a real job.
