MADtv alum Will Sasso has landed a role opposite of Annie Mumolo (Bridesmaids) in the new ABC studios comedy pilot Middle Age Rage. The pilot, created by Malibu Country’s Cheryl Holliday, will be a single-camera comedy starring Sasso and Mumolo as an over-worked and over-stressed middle age couple.
Carol (Mumolo) is struggling with feelings of inadequacy and feels like she is invisible, but she is finally getting the nerve to speak up about herself and demand the respect she deserves. Her husband, Leonard (Sasso) has struggles of his own. Working too much and dealing with stress causes him to have a hard time discussing his feelings and emotions with his wife. Instead, Leonard chooses to stifle and internalize these feelings until they become too much. Leonard is clueless that his wife Carol is having her very own breakdown. Watch out kids, Mom and Dad are on a rampage.
Holliday will write and executive produce the pilot with the help of Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank and Stacy Traub, with Anne Robinson directing. Sasso is best known for his twelve year run on the late-night sketch-comedy MADtv, but the actor has appeared in quite a few other television shows since MADtv went off the air in 2009. Recently Sasso has been in $#*! My Dad Says, Less Than Perfect and has guest-starred on Up All Night. Sasso starred in the 2012 studio film The Three Stooges as Curly.
