Rebecca de Mornay to star in 'Hatfields & McCoys'

The war between the “Hatfields & McCoys” is ready to fire back up, and the Hatfields’ leader has been found.

Rebecca De Mornay has signed on for the NBC drama pilot, set in present- day Pittsburgh.

Mary Hatfield (played by De Mornay) , the mayor of Pittsburgh running the city through her family’s development company and political connections. She married into the family, but now all decision run through her. Her estranged husband reports that she has changed, and is also holding on to a years- old private heartbreak.

Nick Westrate (“Mildred Pierce”) will play Randall Mary Hatfield’s son. He is a smug, rich kid who is a suspect in the death of one of the McCoys.

Virginia Madsen will play Eloise McCoy, who manipulates her son Patrick (played by Jesse Lee Soffer) to seek revenge on the Hatfields. Sophia Bush will player her daughter Emma.

John Glenn (“Eagle Eye”) will write the script and exec produce along with Charlize Theron, A.J. Dix, Dawn Olstead and Beau Flynn. Michael Mayer (“Smash”) will direct the drama from ABC Studios.

De Mornay has appeared in “Risky Business,” “John from Cincinnati” and “The Hand that Rocks the Cradle.”

De Mornay is represented by Binder & Associates.
