Later this month, Doctor Who will return for the second half of its seventh series, and if the ending of the 2012 Christmas special, "The Snowmen," didn't get you excited for the new episodes (which kick off on March 30), maybe this new poster will. It's exciting, cinematic, and features the Doctor (Matt Smith) with his new companion Clara (Jenna-Louise Coleman) on the back of a motorcycle. They're surrounded by shards of glass, some of which feature the faces of the villains from the remaining eight episodes of the series.
There's a Cyberman to be spotted in there (they'll be popping up in Neil Gaiman's episode, "The Last Cyberman," the penultimate of the season). But the big reveals were the peeks the poster gave us at returning creatures the Ice Warriors, who haven't been seen since the series re-premiered in 2005. They're lined up to appear in Mark Gatiss's eighth episode of the season, set on a submarine. Courtesy of DoctorWhoTV, you can check out some blown-up photos of the Ice Warriors glimpsed in the posters.
What do you think of the Ice Warriors? Is there return shaping up to be everything you hoped it would be, Doctor Who fans?
Doctor Who will premiere the second half of its seventh series with the episode "The Bells of St John," which airs March 30 on BBC One in the UK and BBC America in the US.
