Now that's what I'm talking about.
Last month, HBO unveiled the key art for Game of Thrones' third season. As opposed to season 2's visually lush image of a bloodied hand grasping a crown, season 3's poster was entirely minimalistic. Just a dragon's shadow on a white surface. While I wasn't immediately the poster's biggest proponent, it's grown on me.
These new character posters require no such wait.
Ten new character posters for the season have been released, featuring the season's major characters, their faces split in two by some harsh blue lighting. They're immediately striking and totally badass. Tyrion, Daenerys, Jon, Sansa, Catelyn, the Hound, Joffrey, Jaime, Catelyn, Arya, Bran, Robb -- they all look prepared for what is certain to be the show's most intense, exciting season yet. I wouldn't be opposed to it if the posters for Tyrion or Daenerys were chosen as the season's key art over that dragon shadow.
You can check out all ten posters below. What do you think? Which poster's your favorite?
Game of Thrones season 3 will premiere with the episode "Valar Dohaeris" Sunday, March 31, at 9/8c on HBO.

Does the side of the lighting on their faces hold any meaning?
