Allison Stern is working once again. Mary McCormack, who played the former Mrs. Stern in the great Private Parts film (which focused on how much Howard Stern loved his wife - and then they divorced a few years later), has signed on for a new NBC comedy series pilot.
The series is called Welcome to the Family and focuses on what happens when a white family and a Latino family are forced together when their children fall in love and, shortly thereafter, find themselves with a bun in the oven.
McCormack will play Katrina Yoder, the wife of Dan (Mike O'Malley - ugh). Katrina is a "food stylist" and tries to portray an image of stability but, behind the scenes, shows Dan her true side, including her obsessive need to be in control. Her biggest struggle is trying to understand her teenage daughter Molly (played by Ella Rae Peck).
McCormack most recently starred for five seasons on USA's In Plain Sight. She also appeared on The West Wing as Kate Harper, and last pilot season appeared in ABC's The Unprofessional, which was not picked up - as you likely know seeing as you never saw it.
I hope this works for her. I like her as an actress and NBC needs a hit. Could this be it?
So it's "Rob" without Rob Schneider? Good idea because that show did so well.
Howard Stern is the best interviewer alive. He can be crude, but no one gets the level of depth in their celebrity interviews.
Thumbs down for mentioning Stern, talk about ugh!
