Things got pretty up close and personal for three Modern Family stars on Friday night when they tried to take an elevator in the Sheraton Kansas City Motel. Julie Bowen (Claire), Eric Stonestreet (Cam) and Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Mitchell) were at the Kansas City hotel for a Boys & Girls Club fundraiser when Ferguson tweeted “Stuck in an elevator for 35 minutes” along with a video of them pleading for help.
While Ferguson kept it pretty cool during their time in captivity, his on-screen husband Stonestreet looked a little less than impressed in the image tweeted by Ferguson, which he captioned "This is us right now. 45 minutes stuck in this elevator,". Stonestreet still kept his sense of humour though, tweeting "I honestly handled being stuck in an elevator for 50min better than I thought. All @jessetyler did was pass wind."
Ferguson kept a running banter on his twitter throughout the ordeal, commenting that “At least the firemen in K.C. are cute” and sharing a funny video of Bowen climbing to freedom.
The stars were three of fifteen people stuck in the elevator on the third floor of the hotel. It took about an hour for the fire department to respond and free the unwilling captives. As a result the actors were late to their event, but onlookers reported that they had a good sense of humour about it and joked with the audience.
