American model and actress Brooklyn Decker has nabbed a role on the new CBS comedy pilot Friends With Better Lives. Decker will play the character of Jules, one of six friends, each of whom believes that the others have it better than them. Jules is described as being very open minded and kind hearted. Decker’s character is a former model who was discovered in the mall at the age of 13. If her character’s story sounds familiar, it may be because Decker herself was discovered by a modelling agency at a young age in a mall in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Decker is best known for her multiple appearances in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, of which she was the cover model in 2010. In the same year Decker also worked with Victoria secret for their swim collection. In a January 2011 interview with Self magazine, Decker admitted that she had suffered from an eating disorder, and it took the advice of her father to help her to overcome it. "My father did an intervention and got me to stop obsessing about everyone else and wrecking my body,” she said.
Decker has had multiple guest roles on television, including appearances on Chuck, Ugly Betty, Royal Pains, The League and most recently the Fox comedy New Girl. Decker made her film debut in the Adam Sandler and Jennifer Anniston comedy Just Go With It and also had a role in the box office flops Battleship and What to Expect When You're Expecting.
