Naveen Andrews is making his return to ABC, three years after wrapping up with the network as Sayid on Lost. Andrews has been cast in the new ABC drama pilot Reckless as Roland, a renegade who is willing to go to great lengths (for the right price) to help rescue a man’s wife. This role will also mark the return of Andrews to U.S. television following his role on the U.K. series Sinbad.
Reckless follows the struggles of a man named David Ritter (Patrick Fugit), whose wife Sarah Harrison (Eloise Mumford) has been unjustly imprisoned overseas during a political uprising. David is doing everything he can to ensure her safety and rescue, but when the U.S. government proves to be less helpful than he hoped, he is forced to consider some shadier options to save his wife. Roland (Andrews) is a British national and former Secret Air Service member working as an illegal mercenary. He is hired by David to go to one of the world’s deadliest locations and do all he can to free Sarah.
Mad Men’s Chris Black is on board to write and executive produce alongside Martin Campbell and Lucienne Papon. Campbell will also direct. Andrew’s becomes the latest Lost alum to book a pilot for this season so far. Josh Holloway will star in CBS’ Intelligence, Henry Ian Cusick will star in the CW’s The Hundred and Jorge Garcua is headed for CBS’ The Ordained.
