FOX has been developing a pilot from J.J. Abrams' production company Bad Robot about robot cops. The series, previously titled 'Inhuman' (I prefer to call it ROBOT COPS, all caps), is being developed by former Fringe showrunner J.H. Wyman, and focuses on the not-too-distant future in which every member of the L.A.P.D. is accompanied by an android partner.
Michael Ealy has already been cast as the lead android in the series. He'll play Dorian, partner of officer John Kennex.
Now, two more actors have been added to the series. Michael Irby (The Unit) and Mackenzie Crook (Pirates of the Caribbean, The Office [UK]) have been cast in the pilot, according to Deadline.
Irby (pictured left) will play Detective Richard Paul, who according to Deadline "blames Kennex for the death of fellow officers in the tragic mission that casts a pall over the department."
Crook (pictured right), meanwhile, will play Rudy Lom, "the eccentric and underpaid designer of the LAPD’s robotics squad."
This new casting -- of the talented comedic actor Crook in particular -- makes me even more excited for ROBOT COPS. What about you?
The pilot is being developed for the 2013 fall season.
