Will Arnett has a new father, and his name is Beau Bridges.
Greg Garcia and Beau Bridges will be working together once again on Garcia’s “unauthorized” CBS comedy pilot starring Will Arnett. Bridges plated the role of Earl’s father on Garcia’s show My Name Is Earl, and Garcia has cast him in a similar role once again.
Bridges will play the father to recently divorced son Jack (Arnett). Jack is struggling to deal with his own life being turned upside down when he finds out that his parents are having their very own set of marital problems. Bridges’ character, Tom, is described as an incompetent and hapless klutz who decides to leave his wife Carol (Margo Martindale) and move in with his daughter Debbie (Mary Elizabeth Ellis) when he discovers his son Jack has been divorced for some time.
In addition to his role as Carl Hickey on My Name Is Earl, Bridges television credits also include Stargate SG-1, Brothers & Sisters and an arc on Franklin & Bash.
Garcia will executive produce the show with director James Burrows. This will be not only a reunion for Bridges and Garcia, but also one for Bridges and Martindale, who worked together on the upcoming Showtime drama Masters of Sex.
