Has the musical competition reality series bubble burst?
An argument could be made that it has. The last few years have seen a lot of turnover and turmoil on both the X Factor and American Idol.
Simon Cowell has a bit of experience (putting it mildly) in the genre. The executive producer of X Factor, Cowell talked to his former American Idol colleague Ryan Seacrest recently and revealed that he wanted a certain X Factor judge to return to the fold.
“We’d be crazy not to have her back," said Cowell about Demi Lovato. “I liked having Demi on the show...she’s fun to work with.”
The third season of X Factor will begin filming soon in Los Angeles, with a very different look than the second season had. L.A. Reid and Britney Spears have both left the series as judges, with no replacements named for either yet. Additionally, it is not known if co-hosts Mario Lopez or Khloe Kardashian will return either.
“We’re talking to people all the time and hopefully within a couple of weeks we might announce the first two,” said Cowell about the judges panel.
Seacrest also asked Cowell if he could guest host a live X Factor, which Cowell quickly agreed to, in a teasing manner.
Who would you like to see on the show this season?
