Fox’s animated comedy Murder Police has cast two new actors for the voices of cartoon cops. That ‘70’s Show alum Fez, I mean, Wilmer Valderrama and Glee’s Jane Lynch will be lending their voices and their comedic talents to the networks new animated venture.
Created by Family Guy’s David A. Goodman, Murder Police follows the story of a nerdy and neurotic detective named Manuel Sanchez (Jason Ruiz) and his flaky, untrustworthy coworkers at a city precinct. Alongside Goodman works Justice (Lynch), a detective and working mom who has a holier-than-thou attitude, and Donel (Valderrama), an undercover cop that has the tendency to bend rules to his favor. Valderrama has some previous experience playing a cop to draw from for his new character; he played an officer in last year’s Awake, although that was a much more dramatic role than this. Other cast members include Will Sasso, Chi McBride, Peter Atencio and Justina Machado.
Fox has ordered a full 13 episodes for the show so far but has yet to announce a premiere date. While many animated comedies have done very well on Fox, plenty have also flopped and been cut by the network. Do you think Murder Police will be a hit, or a miss?
