HBO’s Boardwalk Empire has cast another series regular for its upcoming fourth season. A week after casting the handsome and talented Ron Livingston as a new series regular, Boardwalk Empire has added Jeffrey Wright to its cast. Wright will play the role of Valentin Narcisse, a “Doctor of Divinity, philanthropist, student of culture and the man who runs Harlem.”
Wright has only dabbled in television in his two decades of acting work, and this role will be his first as a series regular. The actor, who is playing Beetee in the much anticipated sequel to The Hunger Games, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, has also recently wrapped on films Only Lovers Left Alive and The Inevitable Defeat of Mister And Pete.
Wright has worked with HBO in the past, having starred in several projects with the network, including the film Boycott where he embodied the character of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. in a performance that landed him an AFI Award. He also did a mini-series for HBO, Angels In America, for which he earned an Emmy and a Golden Globe. HBO will undoubtedly be happy to welcome back such an outstanding actor.
Season four of Boarwalk Empire is currently in production, and will debut later this year.
