The incredible life cycle of cash money is set to be examined by the Discovery Channel. SPOILERS: It doesn't come anywhere close to my wallet!

From the mint to distribution, Discovery's "The Secret Life of Money" special will analyze the systems which design, produce, protect, distribute and manage the money of the US. The hour long special is set to debut on March 30th.
The special will go behind the scenes of places which few people get to see, such as the Bureau of Engraving and Printing in which bills are initially printed to eventually line the wallets of some lucky citizens. Additionally, "Secret Life" will take a look at the US Mint, which handles manufacture and production of coins from giant coils of metal.
The special won't only look at the manufacturing process of bills and coins, also going behind the scenes of enforcement agencies who handle policing and regulation. Agencies such as the Secret Service, where the nation's top counterfeit experts tackle forgery, and Dunbar armored cars, which protect the flow of currency and provide protection against robbery.
Experts will also lend insight to each process, including members of NPR's Planet Money program such as author David Wolman and artist J.S.G. Boggs. No word on whether Matthew Lesko will clue viewers in on getting the government to give us free money.
