Somewhere Fred Armisen is weeping.

Joy Behar is leaving ABC daytime talk show “The View,” as the comedian’s contract will not be renewed.
Creator Barbara Walters will be the last original member of the daytime talker, which originally also featured Meredith Vieira, Star Jones and Debbie Matenopoulos in 1997. Walters has been part-time for awhile now, and recently took six weeks off while suffering from chicken pox and a concussion.
"Joy Behar has been instrumental in the success of The View from the very beginning," a statement from ABC read. "We wish her all the best in this next chapter, and are thrilled that we have her for the remainder of the season."
Behar will have plenty of freedom, as her HLN series “The Joy Behar Show” was canceled in 2011, and her Current TV show “Joy Behar: Say Anything!” will end when the network transitions to Al Jazeera.
Behar’s contract goes through the end of the 16th season in August.
ABC is a division of Walt Disney Co.
Armisen has played Behar in “Saturday Night Live” skits. Here is a look at some of his greatest moments, including performing in front of the other panalists. “So what, who cares?”
