Television veteran Scott Bakula has joined an as-yet-untitled TNT drama pilot starring Geena Davis. This will mark his return to the network, after starring for two seasons on the critically acclaimed drama 'Men of a Certain Age'.
Bakula is best known for his starring roles on two landmark sci-fi television series: 'Quantum Leap' back in 1989 and 'Star Trek: Enterprise' in 2001. Bakula also recurred on 'Murphy Brown' and has made innumerable guest starring appearances on various series over the past three decades.
Now, Bakula joins this new project, a quirky drama based on the life of real-life bounty hunter Mackenzie Green (who will be played by Geena Davis). Davis stars as Mackenzie “Mack” Green, an unconventional bail bondswoman and bounty hunter whose eccentric personality and unusual tactics give her an advantage in a tough and unpredictable business. Bakula joins the pilot as Green's ex-husband, Pete. Pete is a police officer who wishes Green would tone down the danger in her lifestyle.
Davis is an Academy Award winning actress best known for her feature film roles in 'Beetlejuice,' 'The Fly,' 'A League of Their Own' and other titles. 'Commander in Chief' was Davis' most recent starring series role, prior to landing this new gig. Also joining Bakula and Davis on the TNT drama is Gloria Reuben ('ER'), Marsha Mason ('Army Wives,' 'The Middle') and Enrico Colantoni ('Flashpoint,' 'Just Shoot Me').
Bakula will be appearing in an upcoming episode of 'Two and a Half Men' in a guest starring role as Jerry, a Cal Worthington-like auto dealership tycoon who gets dropped into Jake’s ever-evolving love life in a strange and surprising way.
