Skeet Ulrich has found a new network gig.
The actor best known for his starring role on Jericho and as boyfriend-turned-serial killer Billy Loomis in the first Scream film, will be starring in the new CBS pilot Anatomy of Violence. The series is being developed by Homeland's Howard Gordon, Alex Gansa and Alex Cary.
The pilot, an hour-long drama, is based on Adrian Raines’ nonfiction book "The Anatomy of Violence: The Biological Roots of Crime." In the pilot, Ulrich will play Raines, a maverick FBI criminal psychiatrist who specializes in understanding why people commit extreme acts of violence and what drives them. Raines teams with a wet-behind-the-ears female detective, who he shares a mysterious past link with.
Already cast in the project is Homeland alum David Harewood, who will play Alejo, a profiler and Raines' boss.
The series is being developed by 20th Century Fox.
Ulrich has also appeared in Miracles, Into The West, CSI: New York, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Law & Order: Los Angeles, and has lent his vocal talents to Robot Chicken.
I am not sure what to make of this project. It sounds interesting on the surface and Ulrich is a guy who it seems should have had more success than he has.
I'll watch anything with Skeet - but still hoping for a s3 Jericho resserection.
