Kathryn Morris will be starring opposite Jason Isaacs if CBS picks up their new pilot.
The show, The Surgeon General, will star Isaacs as Dr. John Sherman, who becomes the Surgeon General of the United States. In that role, he has unlimited access to resources, as well as the authority, to leave an impact on the health of all Americans. So think Barack Obama, just at a lower level.
Morris will play Lyia Ferrari, Sherman's chief of staff and longtime friend. She is fiercely loyal to Sherman, and was very close to his late wife. She runs interference on his behalf when he refuses to cooperate and do what his superiors at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue tell him to do.
Morris has a track record with CBS, as she starred on Cold Case for seven seasons as Lily Rush.
The pilot is being developed by Lie to Me's Samuel Baum. He will be writing and executive producing the CBS Television Studios project. Rod Lurie will be directing the pilot.
Also attached to the pilot are Beth Riesgraf and Katherine McNamara.
In addition to Cold Case, Morris has appeared on L.A. Firefighters, Pensacola: Wings of Gold, The Mind of the Married Man, and in the films Minority Report, Paycheck, Moneyball and A.I. Artificial Intelligence.
