Sitcom veteran and heart-throb John Stamos has landed a season-long arc on the USA Network series Necessary Roughness. This role is coming on the heels of Stamos’ recent recurring roles on Glee and The New Normal, as well as the announcement that Stamos will star in the new upcoming NBC drama pilot I Am Victor.
Stamos will play the role of Connor McClane, the entrepreneur and founder of a sports and entertainment management company called V3. His company is incredibly successful and has turned into a global empire. Connor is eager to get Dr. Dani (Callie Thorne) on its payroll, impressed by her success after working with Terrance King (Mehcad Brooks). In a statement released by the USA Network, Stamos’ character will “Do whatever it takes to get Dani into the V3 family.” It sounds like there is the possibility of more than just a business arrangement between Connor and Dani in the works.
The series, which was almost cancelled back in January, has been renewed for a shorter 10-episode third season. Not surprisingly, Necessary Roughness will be going through some changes before it returns with its third season this summer. USA Co-President Jeff Wachtel says “They're really embracing blowing it out in the third season. We're really going to swing for the fences with that type of storytelling on Necessary."
Do you think Stamos will make a good addition to the cast of Necessary Roughness? Do you plan on checking in for the third season?
