Tom Berenger, fresh off of his Emmy Award win for his role in 'Hatfields & McCoys,' has been cast as lead opposite Ramon Rodriguez in FOX's upcoming drama pilot 'Gang Related.'
Written by Chris Morgan, directed by Allen Hughes and exec produced by Brian Grazer, 'Gang Related' is FOX's upcoming pilot about Ryan Lopez (Rodriguez), a gang member sent in to infiltrate the San Francisco Police Department. Berenger joins the cast as Sam Chapel, a tough, dynamic police chief who oversees the Gang Task Force which employs Lopez.
Berenger, a veteran of feature films, played Jim Vance in the critically-acclaimed miniseries 'Hatfields & McCoys,' winning the Emmy for Best Supporting Actor in a TV Miniseries or Movie as a result. A star
of 'Platoon,' 'Born on the Fourth of July,' 'Training Day,' and 'Inception,' Berenger's talent is proven and his stock has once again risen to the top of the television talent pool.
Ramon Rodriguez is best known for his role as John Bosley in the recent remake of 'Charlie's Angels.' The actor has also starred in the feature action films 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' and 'Battle Los Angeles.' 'Gang Related' marks his first jump to the spotlight.
