A “High School Musical” star is headed to a soap.

Corin Bleu, Chad Danforth in the Disney juggernaut, will join “One Life to Live,” which itself has gotten a new life.
Bleu will play Jeffrey King, a cub reporter who moves to Llanview to work at Victoria Lord’s (played by Erica Slezak) newspaper, “The Banner.” King is a friend of Matthew Buchanan (played by Robert Gorrie) and Danielle Manning (played by Kelley Missal).
Bleu will also star in “Nurse 3-D,” which Lionsgate Films will release later this year. He also recently starred as Jesus in a Broadway revival of “Godspell.”
“One Life to Live” debuts April 29 on The Online Network, along with the return of “All My Children.” Production studio Prospect Park will stream the 30- minute episodes weekdays on Hulu. ITunes will also offer both shows.
Prospect Park tried to bring back canceled soaps “One Life to Live” and “All My Children” online in 2011. Talks fell through, and Prospect Park then signed deals with the actors and directors guilds to begin production on both shows in 2013’s first quarter.
“All My Children” production began Feb. 25, and shooting on “One Life to Live” will start March 18.
