Two new actors have signed up for duty in the newest project from Bill Lawrence (Scrubs, Cougar Town, Spin City).
James Earl (Glee) and Rene Gube (The Office, The Newsroom) have joined Ground Floor, a new half-hour comedy series being developed by Lawrence and Greg Malins.
The series will revolve around a 29-year-old alpha male whose world is shattered when he meets his company's support staff. The staff is very close and happy, which causes the alpha male to realize that his life is not as great as he imagined it was.
Earl has worked with TBS before, as he appeared on its comedy series Glory Daze. He will play Derrick here, a laid-back dude who works with the series' female lead character, Jennifer (Briga Heelan). Derrick is described as "a cheerful liar whose fabrications are always getting him into hot water."
Gube will play "Threepeat" Mike Wen, a money manager. Threepeat loves a good time, no matter how wild it gets. He is best friends with trust manager Brody (Skylar Astin). Threepeat hooks up with a ground floor woman and feels that he has done something taboo.
John C. McGinley is also attached to the project.
