The winner of the 14th season of NBC's Biggest Loser was crowned during its live finale last night on the network.
The series, which deals with a weight-loss competition, was won by Danni Allen after she lost 121 pounds during the season - a whopping 46.9 of her original body weight. It is that percentage which determines the winner. Allen, a 26-year-old from Wheeling, Ill., was on Jillian Michaels' team. Winning the competition won her a $250,000 cash prize.
She beat out Nicholas, a 24-year old from Monroe, Mich., and Carter, a 21-year-old from Layton, Utah. Nichols, coached by Bob Harper, lost 181 pounds (46.7 percent) and Carter, coached by Dolvett Quince, lost 138 pounds (42.1 percent). Finishing closely behind Carter was Joe, a 43-year-old from Williston, Fla., who lost 147 pounds (40.4 percent).
Allen was not the only one to cash in, as Gina McDonald, a viewer from Hoover, Ala., won the prize for at-home weight loss. The 47-year-old McDonald lost 113 pounds (46.1 percent) and won the $100,000 at-home prize.
Congratulations to all of them. Even if they did not take home any cash, they still did something terrific for themselves. I bet none of them feel like losers today.
