It has been a while since any updates have been announced about the eighth (and likely final) season of Showtime’s Dexter. Dexter is set to make an early return to television on June 30th, instead of its usual fall return, and it was announced yesterday that Last Resort actor Darri Ingolfsson is set up for a multi-episode arc on the serial killer drama. Ingolfsson, who played a senatorial aide dating a weapons lobbyist on the ABC series, will be playing "an antique dealer of old medieval equipment who starts dating Dexter’s (Michael C. Hall) neighbor.”
This guest role brings up a whole slew of mental images. A medieval equipment dealer in close proximity to a serial killer makes me think of weird weapons and torture devices, but as of now we can only speculate on the role that Ingolfsson’s character will play in the long run.
Ingolfsson is most recently known the role of Robert Mitchell in Last Resort and he has had several small roles in some made for TV movies and film, including The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Joining Ingolfsson in guest arcs on season eight will be Charlotte Ramplin as a neuro-psychiatrist specializing in young psychopaths with a knack for profiling criminals, and Sean Patrick Flannery as an ex-cop owner of a private investigation company.
