ABC’s David Shore drama pilot has added two heavy hitters to its cast.
Carla Gugino (“Political Animals”) and John Pankow (“Episodes”) have joined “Doubt,” which stars Steve Coogan.
The pilot focuses on Vincent (played by Coogan), an ex- cop- turned- lawyer who uses street smarts to works the systems for clients. He may be low- rent, but he is charming, and is also battling his demons and wooing his former wife.
Gugino has been one of this pilot season’s most sought- after actresses. She received multiple offers for broadcast and cable projects, and wil play Vincent’s ex- wife Linda.
Shore (“House M.D.”) will write the script and exec produce the Sony Pictures Television project. Tommy Schlamme is directing the pilot, and Rockmond Dunbar (“Sons of Anarchy”), Greg Grunberg and Kacey Rohl are also in the cast.
Gugino guest starred on Fox’s “New Girl” recently, playing Schmidt’s (played by Max Greenfield) boss. She has also appeared on “Entourage,” “Californication” and “Chicago Hope.” Pankow has appeared on “Mad About You” and “Elementary,” and the features “Bride Wars” and “The Object of My Affection.”
Gugino is represented by CAA, Untitled and Sloane Offer. Pankow is repped by Gersh.
