ABC Family wants to take you into the exciting, sometimes glamorous and often frustrating world of New York real estate. The channel is working on an hour-long dramedy called Hot Property, which is based on a book by the same name written by HGTV's Selling New York stars Sabrina Michele and Samantha Kleier.
The project will deal with a mother and her daughters and their struggles to make it together, living and working in the real estate industry. Elizabeth Chase and her daughters Kate and Isabel work and live together, creating a buffer against outsiders, including their often frustrated significant others.
Melissa Carter, a veteran at ABC Family (Jane By Design, The Lying Game) will be writing the scripted project. Richard Shepard, Sean Furst and Bryan Furst will be producing the series. The project was set up when WME, who represents the Kleiers as well as the producers, helped coordinate the project with ABC and then pointed them in Carter's direction. Meredith Ditlow will assist with the project in a supervisory role.
ABC Family is hitting the scripted series front hard, as it airs Pretty Little Liars, Baby Daddy and Bunheads already, as well as the upcoming projects The Fosters and Twisted.
