On the same day that it announced a new pilot, the ABC Family network has approved a third season of one of its most popular series.
Baby Daddy will be coming back to the network. The drama, which stars Jean-Luc Bilodeau, Derek Theler and Tajh Mowry, started its first season as the top new cable series among key female demos last year and has become the top ranked comedy series in ABC Family history. Not too shabby, having a top series at any network is an accomplishment, no matter what the network is.
The series, created by Dan Berendsen (The Nine Lives of Chloe King) just recently wrapped production on its second season, which launches in two months on May 29.
"Baby Daddy was an immediate success when it launched. Based on the creative strength we saw during production on season two, and how the episodes, story lines and characters are developing, we decided to double down on this hit show and keep it in production for additional episodes," ABC Family president Michael Riley said. "We have a great deal of faith that our brilliant creative team and wonderful cast will continue to warm our hearts and make us laugh each week."
