AMC's now police thriller series Low Winter Sun looks like it might be an incredibly strong new series. That's partially due to this intriguing, tense trailer, but it's also due to the show's incredible cast, headed up by Mark Strong.
Sure, we all know Strong as the go-to bad guy of many a recent blockbuster (Kick-Ass, Sherlock Holmes, John Carter, Robin Hood), but the guy is even better in more conflicted roles. His Low Winter Sun character, Frank Agnew -- a cop complicit in what he thought was the perfect murder -- is the very epitome of conflicted, the kind of antihero AMC dramas are made of.
The rest of the cast is just as strong. Promotional photos reveal the presence of Lennie James (The Walking Dead, Jericho), who plays Frank's fellow cop and conspirator, Geddus (pictured right).
We also get a peek at David Costabile's character, Simon Boyd. You might know Costabile from his role on Flight of the Conchords as Doug, or, more recently, his stint in the third season of Breaking Bad as meth cook Gale.
While we'll have to wait until the summer to see Low Winter Sun, AMC's done a very good job of getting us excited for the series. You can check out the promotional photos for the show's ten-episode first season below.
