Slovenian-born Emmy Award winning American actor Zeljko Invanek has landed a role in season two of the Cinemax drama Banshee. On top of that, the role is a very important and pivotal character from the comic book. Time to get excited Fanshees.
Ivanek will be appearing in three episodes from season 2 of the popular show was Jim Racine, a “chain smoking, renegade FBI agent who has been tracking Rabbit for 15 years.” Racine was first introduced in the prequel comic Banshee: Origins, when he arrives in town to investigate the disappearance of Rabbit and creates a whole slew of complications for Lucas and Carrie.
Executive producer Greg Yaitanes, who has previous experience working with Ivanek on Damages, Heroes and House, is thrilled that Ivanek has been brought on board for the role of Jim Racine. “When we created Banshee: Origins we had someone like Zeljko in mind, so it’s really crazy that he’s going to bring him to life. Anyone who has read the comic book will get great insight into Racine’s mission and his obsession with Rabbit.”
Banshee has had a fantastic freshman year, finishing its first season last week as Cinemax’s most-watched original series. Production for season 2 is set to start on April 4th. Do you think Ivanek will play the role of Jima Racine well?
