“Friends with Better Lives” has found its last lead.
Zoe Lister Jones (co- star on NBC’s “Whitney”) has signed on to Dana Klein’s CBS comedy.
James Burrows will direct the multi- camera project from 20th Century Fox TV and Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment.
The show revolves around six 30- somethings who are friends and all think that each other have it better.
Jones will play aggressive and self- absorbed Kate. She’s a big success in her career, but not so much in her dating life.
Other characters include Jules (played by Brooklyn Decker), a former model; Lowell (played by Rick Donald), a barefoot spiritualist; Andi Lutz (played by Majandra Delfino), a mother of an infant and three- year- old twins; her gynecologist husband Bobby (played by Kevin Connolly), and his best friend Will Stokes (played by James van der Beek), who is also a gynecologist and recently divorced after discovering his wife has cheated on him.
Jones is only the latest “Whitney” cast member to book a pilot on the side. “Whitney” has struggled in the ratings, and may not be long for this world.
Jones is represented by WME and Karl Austen.
