'Modern Family' star Jesse Tyler Ferguson is the latest talent to be added to the already-star-studded cast of 'Hot in Cleveland's upcoming reunion of the cast of 'The Mary Tyler Moore Show.'
Feguson has won the hearts and minds of America as Mitchell Pritchett on the hit 'Modern Family' and is making a rare appearance on another program to take part in a very special episode of TV Land's flagship sitcom. For an upcoming episode of 'Hot in Cleveland,' the ladies of 'The Mary Tyler Moore Show' are being reunited: Mary Tyler Moore, Valerie Harper and Cloris Leachman will make guest appearances, joining series star Betty White with recurring player Georgia Engel. But wait... what does Ferguson have to do with the 'Mary Tyler Moore Show' reunion..? Well... nothing. Ferguson's appearance will headline the B-story of the sitcom episode, where he will play a world-famous director with whom Wendie Malick’s Victoria would kill to work. Ferguson's character is avant-garde, eccentric, a flighty artist... which means that when he falls upon a particular person that he wants in front of his camera, he is determined to get them. So what happens when it isn't Victoria that he selects..?
As for the A-story of the episode, Elka (played by White) and Mamie Sue (Engel) wish to get their old championship bowling team back together, the GLOB; Gorgeous Ladies of Bowling. They reunite with former team members Diane (Moore), Peg (Leachman) and Angie (Harper). Elka and Mamie Sue lost contact with Diane, Peg and Angie when the team had a falling out after their big championship went to their heads. The five talented actresses will appear on screen together for the first time since 'The Mary Tyler Moore Show' ended way back in 1977.
'Hot in Cleveland,' which is headlined by Betty White, Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick, returns from hiatus with a very special and gutsy live episode on June 19.
