America Now lands fourth season

American Now

A syndicated talk show has landed a fourth season.

America Now, which is co-hosted by Leeza Gibbons and Bill Rancic, will be coming back, according to an announcement made by Paul McTear, president and CEO of Raycom Media, along with Paul Bucceri, managing director of ITV Studios International and CEO of ITV Studios America.

The series, which launched in 2010 as programming for stations under the Raycom banner, entered syndication last year and spread to new markets beyond the original 52 stations in 36 markets it appeared on. In September of 2011, the series added Gibbons and expanded from airing only on the weekends to the five weekdays.

The series is filmed and then distributed, meaning that episodes do not air live. The series uses reports from Raycom stations as well as its own original reporting, focusing on "news you can really use” that will help with lifestyles, family, health, pets and diet.

The program averaged a 1.4 rating and a four percent market share when it was metered earlier this year in 14 markets, a double-digit increase on where it was last year. Still, the show is not seen in a great deal of the country.

“Season 4 of America Now promises even more great stories and smart solutions from our hosts and experts,” said Buccieri.

“Year after year more and more people have come to rely on the show as a guide to great information that helps them live their lives better,” McTear added.
