Actor Paul Adelstein can be added to the list of Private Practice alums that have scooped up their next television role. Adelstein is set to star in the untitled CBS comedy pilot from Julie Rottenberg and Elisa Zuritsky. The pilot is based on an Israeli series called Mother’s Day, and also stars Debra Messing.
Messing will play 40-year-old Gabby, a woman who is struggling to balance her life as a mother of three, a lover, a friend and a career woman the only way she know how – by lying. Adelstein will play Gabby’s loving husband, Bryan, a smart and honest Google employee who is devoted to his wife and family but really has no idea what kind of stress his wife is under, or how she is handling it. I think the pair will do well together on screen as a couple.
Adelstein is the latest of the Private Practice brood to pick up a new pilot. KaDee Strickland has booked a role on the NBC pulp drama Bloodline, Taye Diggs will be playing the male lead in TNT’s Murder in the First pilot and Kate Walsh is in talks to star in an NBC comedy pilot from the production company led by Will Ferrell.
Does the addition of Adelstein to the cast make you want to check out this CBS pilot?
