To Comic Book Guy, he never left. For the rest of us, he’s coming back for the 25th (yes, 25th) season.
Comic book legend Stan Lee will guest-star on an upcoming episode of “The Simpsons.”
The co-creator of Marvel superheroes like Spider-Man, The Hulk and the X-Men will play himself in an installment airing next season. In the episode, Homer Simpson is poised to ruin a blossoming relationship between the Funny Book Gentleman and an attractive young Japanese lady/ fan of manga.
Lee stops by Comic Book Guy’s store and gives out advice on comics, romance and, of course, romance comics. (Sounds like a similar role Lee had in “Mallrats.”)
This is not a first-time the 90- year- old Lee has visited Springfield: He also came by The Android’s Dungeon & Baseball Card Shop in a season 13 episode.
“Stan was a joy to work with once again,” Al Jean, Simpsons executive producer, told Entertainment Weekly, “and we look forward to having him back on the show in another 12 years.”
Seth MacFarlane, Aaron Sorkin, Gordon Ramsay and Joe Namath have all also recorded roles for the 25th season, which begins this fall on Fox.
