Expect this year's MTV Movie Awards to be very heavy on "Pitch Perfect," the Universal musican comedy.
In addition to Rebel Wilson, who appeared in the film, serving as the host of this year's award, it was announced that the cast from the film will be reuniting on stage at the awards to perform a musical mash-up that is being created and directed by Jason Moore, who directed the film. It will kick off the show.
Wilson, Skylar Astin, Anna Camp, Esther Dean, Adam Devine, Alexis Knapp, Hana Mae Lee, Ben Platt and Brittany Snow, who appeared as the Barden Bellas and Treblemakers, have all signed on to appear at the awards.
“I could not be more thrilled for the MTV Movie Awards to be the setting for the Pitch Perfect Bella and Treblemaker reunion,” said Moore. “We have something exciting in store for the MTV audience, and I know the cast and fans are going to really enjoy our first-ever live performance!”
Pitch Perfect has been nominated for four awards during the awards, which airs April 14. Those awards are best female and best breakthrough performances for Wilson, best musical moment for the Bellas as a whole and best WTF moment for Camp.
Anna Kendrick, who starred in the film, is currently unable to appear due to a scheduling conflict, but is trying to resolve the conflict and appear, according to reports.
