Earlier today, it was officially confirmed that the long-awaited fourth season of the critically acclaimed sitcom Arrested Development will premiere on Netflix May 26. At midnight. Sorry if you were planning on getting a good night's sleep that night.
But along with that news item, a poster was released. It's a teaser poster -- I doubt it will be the final key art for the season -- but it is indeed intriguing (and exciting).
The poster maintains the dominance of orange that made the art for the first three seasons so striking. But unlike those original posters, the Bluths and the Funkes are absolutely nowhere to be found. Instead, we just get to see the front of a very orange shipping container, the doors tightly chained shut.
"The Final Countdown begins," the poster's tagline promises.
I think it's safe to assume that the Bluths -- or, more abstractly, the fifteen episodes of season 4 -- are trapped inside this shipping container (hell, it might be big enough for the stair car). Whether or not the shipping container is actually relevant to the plot of season 4, though, remains to be seen.
That vibrant orange color has got me so excited for the new season that, well, I think I just blue myself.
Arrested Development season 4 will premiere (all fifteen episodes at once) on Netflix on May 26.
Are you prepared?
