Yesterday we reported that ABC’s Once Upon A Time spinoff, Once Upon A Time In Wonderland, had cast the role of the Red Queen, and today this news if followed quickly by another casting update. The series has cast the role of The White Rabbit, and have chosen Paul Reubens to voice the skittish and intelligent creature.
The name Paul Reubens may not ring a bell to you, but I guarantee you have heard of his work. Reubens has had a successful career in both film and television, but is known best for his role as Pee-Wee Herman. Who better to play a jumpy, nervous and slightly overbearing bunny than the man who played the impatient, fun-loving and childlike Pee-Wee.
Once Upon A Time In Wonderland is set in a pre-curse Wonderland and told through the eyes of none other than Alice (Sophie Lowe), a generous young woman who struggles to carry the scars of her past. Other confirmed cast members include Peter Gadiot as Alice’s love interest Cyrus, Michael Sochas as the sardonic adventurer the Knave of Heart, and most recently Emma Rigby as the malicious Red Queen.
In the 2010 Tim Burton silver screen rendition of Alice in Wonderland, The White Rabbit was voiced by actor Michael Sheen. Do you think Paul Reubens will make a good White Rabbit?
