Julian Sands has been signed to “Banshee,” to play a character’s divine sibling.
Sands will appear in a multiple- episode season two arc as Rabbit’s (played by Ben Cross) younger brother who is also a devout and amoral Ukranian priest.
Sands will appear in three episodes. He has appeared on “Lipstikc Jungle,” “24” and “Jackie Chan Adventures.”
Emmy winner Zeljko Ivanek (“Damages”) also guested on season two as a chain smoker, renegade FBI agent that has been tracking Rabbit for 15 years.
“Banshee” finished its freshman season last month as the most- watched original series on Cinemax.
Jonathan Tropper and David Schickler created “Banshee” and exec produce along with Alan Ball, Greg Yaitanes and Peter Macdissi.
“Banshee” is set in a small town in Pennsylvania Amish country. It features an enigmatic ex- con pretending to be a murdered sheriff. He imposes his own sort of justice, and also cooks up plans to serve his own interests.
Anthony Starr, Ivana Milicevic, Ulrich Thomsen, Frankie Faison and Hoon Lee star in the series. Mr. Rabbit is a Ukranian gangster looking for revenge on Hood (Starr), and is played by Ben Cross.
Production on the second season started this week.
