Clint Eastwood’s son has joined the brave men of the Chicago police department, sworn to protect and serve. Not literally, of course. Eastwood’s son, Scott Eastwood, has been cast as one of the stars of NBC’s Chicaco Fire spin-off.
Eastwood will play Officer Jim Barnes on the yet to be titled cop drama. The series is being developed by Chicago Fire creators and executive producers Derek Haas and Michael Brandt, executive producer Matt Olmstead and executive producer Dick Wolf. Wolf has had much success in the past launching franchise extensions with Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. The potential spin-off will be introduced to Chicago Fire audiences during the season finale of its inaugural season.
Joining Eastwood in the season finale episode, and potentially the spin-off, is his Texas Chainsaw 3D co-star, Tania Raymonde in the role of a fellow police officer names Nicole. No details have been released yet about which Chicago Fire characters, if any, will make a jump over to the spin-off but it is likely that you can expect to see Chicago PD Detective Antionio Dawson (Jon Seda) at the very least.
Will you be watching the season finale of Chicago Fire? Do you think a spin-off series will do well?
